Ever since the Nationals made their move to Washington the team has not seen very much success at all. Since 2005 the team has not been able to make it to the playoffs and in 2009 the Nationals put up the worst record in the league with just 59 times. While the year was supposed to be exciting thanks to the opening of a new stadium, that just did not happen as the product on and off the field disappointed in many ways.
The bright side of the poor season was the fact that the team was able to draft Stephen Strasburg who should become a mainstay on the team and is one of the best and most exciting young prospects in the entire game. The team also managed to acquire Matt Capps and Jason Marquis in order to try and improve the starting rotation and the bullpen and try to cut down on the amount of runs allowed in 2010.
While the Nationals still have a long way to go, they are making the right moves and are well on their way to turning the franchise around. Be sure to find out just how well they can compete this year by watching all kinds of live Washington Nationals games right here on WatchLiveBaseball.com.
