The New York Yankees really took it to the Texas Rangers on Monday night and look to continue their recent string of dominance on Tuesday, May 26. Alex Rodriguez had an awe inspiring game against his former team as he went 5 for 5 on the end which was more than enough to back young Phil Hughes dominating starting performance. Hughes pitched eight scoreless innings and was none to pleased about being pulled out of the game in the ninth, even though the game was long over as the score was 11-1. The Rangers will look to bounce back in the second game of the series while the Yankees will refuse to take their feet of the pedal. The Yankees are trying to push their way to the top of the AL East and have already leapfrogged the Toronto Blue Jays and sit just barely back of the Boston Red Sox.

The Texas Rangers are doing their best to try and remain relevant in their division and have been the picture of inconsistency this season. The have all the tools to compete, especially offensively but cannot seem to get the clutch hits or the consistent pitching that they need in order to compete with the big boys in the American League.
