We all know what happened the last time the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees faced each other earlier this season. The Red Sox had the Yankees number and it seems so has everyone else so far. The teams are at it again on Tuesday, May 5^th.The Yankees are struggling mightily and it seems controversy has followed the team everywhere they go. New accusations about all star Alex Rodriguez and the poor play of the new impact players has this team slipping fast towards the bottom of the AL East. Just when it seemed that they were starting to turn it around, rain got in their way. Their recent game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim was rained out which probably killed any momentum the team had coming out of Detroit. The Yankees need their pitching staff to come together and lower their league worst ERA of 6.26 if they hope to remain relevant this season.

The Red Sox however are flying high right atop the division and every player from all star to reserve is coming up big at the right time. The swept the Yankees the last time out and even put together a monstrous winning steak in between. This is all without staff aces John Lester and Josh Beckett pitching like they are capable of. If Lester and Beckett started rounding into form and the team gets Dice-K Matsuzaka back then the entire league could be in some trouble. The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be the only team standing in their way but simply do not have the pitching talent to match up for the whole season.
