The battle of the titans continued on Wednesday June 3rd as the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers clashed once again in MLB action. The Rangers have been quite a surprise this year so far, but have not been able to play up to their potential against the New York Yankees. The Yankees on the other hand have been dominant and almost unstoppable in the past few weeks on their way to taking over the AL East division lead. That was until Wednesday night.
The Texas Rangers took over the best record in the entire American League with a 4-2 victory to avenge the drubbing that was handed to them the night before. Ian Kinsler led the way tith a 2 for 3 night, an RBI and a run scored and Andy Pettite was not as dominating as he has been recently. Marlon Byrd, Chris Davis and Nelson Cruz also delivered an RBI on the night. The biggest surprise for the Rangers recently has been the play of pitcher Scott Feldman who is know 5 and 0 on the season and turned in another quality start. He held the powerful Yankees to just two runs on five hits. Feldman has really come into his own and has been a big reason that the Rangers have the best record in the American League.
The Rangers V Yankees series wraps up on Thursday June 4th as both teams look to win a big series. The Rangers will send another surprising starter to the mound in Brandon McCarthy and the Yankees will sent out former all start Chien-Ming Wang. Wang is looking to return to all star form after a couple of promising outings out of the bullpen in May. The New York Yankees found a new way to put together yet another victory and stay on top of the AL East on Tuesday night. However the record breaking streak of 18 games without an error came to an end when Catcher Jorge Posada threw a ball away into the outfield. That did not stop the team from pouring on the offence and Posada made up for it with a three run home run. The Yankees eventually went on to a 12-3 victory and are making it hard for any team to compete with them right now.
After losing their last series with the Yankees the Rangers were hoping to have learned something and be able to get some revenge. So far in this series it has not happened as they were slaughtered on Tuesday night and should be in tough trying to bounce back again on Wednesday June 3rd. Vincent Padilla had a very rough game on the mound and had a real hard time locating his pitches all throughout the game. On the other side of the mind AJ Burnett turned in another quality, seven inning performance and is proving himself worthy of the contract he signed in the off season.

The New York Yankees bounced back against the Texas Rangers on Wednesday night and hammered them by a score of 9 to 2. Each game of the series has been somewhat of a blowout so far in this four game series, as the Yankees also won by a score of 11-1 and the Rangers on the second game 7 to 3. This series has been spotlighting a number of AL stars that are leading the way in AL All Star balloting including Derek Jeter, Josh Hamilton, Ian Kinsler and Chris Davis.

The New York Yankees and Texas Rangers involved in a mid season battle that not even torrential downpours can stop. The game between these two teams on Tuesday night was delayed for over 2 and a half hours, yet when the rain stopped, the two teams continued to battle it out. The Rangers came away with a convincing 7-3 victory bouncing back from the slaughtering that the Yankees put them through the night before. Chris Davis drove two long home runs and Jarrod Satalamacchia was credited with the game winning RBI.
The Rangers have been a surprise recently and mostly thanks to some consistent starting pitching that they are not used to.
